Prof. Dina Abouhussein is a Professor of Pharmacognosy and the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Innovation University, with more than three decades of academic, research, and administrative experience in pharmacy education. She brings extensive expertise in academic leadership, scientific research, quality assurance, accreditation, curriculum development, and digital transformation in higher education.
She earned her Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences from Cairo University in 1994 with honors, followed by her Master’s and PhD degrees in Pharmacognosy, specializing in medicinal plants and natural products. Throughout her career, she has held several leadership positions, including Head of the Department of Pharmacognosy, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Cairo University.
Professor Dina has made significant contributions to scientific research, with more than 40 publications in internationally peer-reviewed journals focusing on medicinal plants, biodiversity, marine sponges, natural products, and biologically active compounds. She has also supervised numerous Master's and PhD theses and served on editorial boards and peer-review committees for international scientific journals.
Throughout her academic career, she has taught undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacy students at several leading Egyptian and Arab universities, including Cairo University, Suez Canal University, Ain Shams University, Misr International University, and King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia. She has also contributed to the development of digital course content and electronic curricula, reflecting her commitment to innovation and digital transformation in pharmacy education.
Professor Dina has played an active role in academic accreditation and quality assurance, contributing to strategic planning, international accreditation processes, and the establishment of quality assurance units at academic institutions. She has also served on several university and national committees related to pharmacy education, professional development, and higher education.
With her extensive academic and leadership experience, Prof. Dina is committed to advancing pharmacy education, scientific research, and institutional excellence while preparing future pharmacists to contribute effectively to healthcare and society.
