Dear Students, Samir Sadek Hosny is a distinguished Professor of Architecture and Design Computing with over 45 years of leadership in architectural education, research, and academic development. He currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Innovation University (IU). Throughout his career, he has held major roles across Ain Shams University, MIU, FUE, and Suez Canal University, including Acting Dean, Vice Dean, and Head of the Architecture Department. He is also the founder and first Chairman of the Architectural Engineering Department at FUE. He earned his B.Sc. (1977) and M.Sc. (1985) from Ain Shams University, and completed his Ph.D. in Architectural Design Computing at Penn State University in 1990. Expertise includes Design Computing, Shape Grammars, CAD Generation, Expert Systems, VR/AR in Education, CMCD, and Sustainable Architecture. He directed Egypt’s first Virtual Design Studio in 2003 with partners from the UK, UAE, Turkey, and Mexico. He has published over 60 papers, supervised more than 80 postgraduate theses, and served as an international examiner, reviewer, and committee member. Awards include Outstanding Services (2017) and Best Professor–Student Relationship (2013).
